When it comes to planning your vacation to Walt Disney World? One of the questions that usually comes up is “How many days do I need to visit Walt Disney World and not die trying?” I usually say, “As many as your budget allows”… I realize, that my first answer may not help much… BUT there are a few things to consider…
Walt Disney World is HUGE! Consider the size of the city of San Francisco. It has 4 theme parks, over 30 resorts, 2 water parks, 4 golf courses, and much more…
Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Disney´s Hollywood Studios, and Magic Kingdom have attractions for everyone! When we say “everyone”, we are also talking about the little ones.
Water parks can be a “hit or miss”, depending on the weather and kid´s ages. You also have to consider that during certain times of the year, at least one of them is closed for “refurbishment”. And even though, Florida has very warm weather all year round and they keep the water warm… for some visitors from other countries, the months of November – February, may not be the best ones to include them in your trip.
Each resort has a “theme”, and that in itself presents entertainment for their guests. While value resorts don´t have a full-service restaurant, and this may be a deterrent for some families; the theme isn’t subtle. You will see it everywhere!
Moderate level resorts carry their theme throughout the grounds and lobby, walking through Caribbean Beach Resort, you will truly feel like you are in one of the Caribbean islands… while in Coronado Springs, you will be tempted to drink a Margarita and dream of Mexico! Deluxe level resorts are the perfect place to spend an afternoon… their grounds are beautiful, and their restaurants are a great option for a special family dinner.
Did you know that each resort has a characteristic scent? Yes! A scent! You will never forget the feeling when you walk into Yacht Club Resort, or Beach Club Resort… the scent will transport you in seconds!
Now that we have covered the size of Walt Disney World Resort, the number of theme parks, water parks, golf courses, and resort levels… let’s get back to talking about how many days you need to visit Walt Disney World Resort.
If this is your first visit, I would recommend something like this…
Day 1: Check-In °o° Arrival. Depending on what time your flight lands, you may want to take the first day to relax. Enjoy your Resort and get some rest.
Day 2: Theme Park 1 °o°
Day 3: Theme Park 2 °o°
Day 4: Rest Day °o° You WILL need it °o° Pool Day/ Water Park/ Shopping / Disney Springs
Day 5: Park 3 °o°
Day 6: Park 4 °o°
Day 7: Check-Out °o° Return Home / Generally, I don’t recommend using this as a park day. You will be trying to pack everything AND be out of your room by 11 am, which is Check-Out time.
With this plan in mind, you have the option to take a full day to rest, do some shopping, or if the weather permits, go to a Water Park. Of course, my first choice would be to take a break.
